AWS re:Invent 2017 Session Planner is Live
We’re pretty excited to see the re:Invent 2017 Session Planner go live. We’ll be keeping an eye on what kinds of cloud optimization and efficiency talks show up, and looking forward to meeting folks at our Cloudability-led sessions.
From Cloud Cost Management to Financial Agility: The Journey to Success (ENT 208)
We’ll be partnering with HERE Technologies to guide you through the journey to cloud financial agility. You’ll walk away with the same steps hundreds of our customers adopt in order to achieve financial efficiency on the cloud while building a leaner infrastructure and cloud culture. We’ll cover discovering and validating your goals (needs, requirements, responsibilities), analyzing and closing the gaps between your goals and your reality and discuss ways to develop a new operational model that provides financial agility and predictability.
Achieving Your Cloud Efficiency Goals with Metric-Driven Cost Optimization (ENT 319)
The science of saving at scale on the cloud has changed – but we’re here to keep you up to date on the best ways to stay cloud efficient. Join us and Atlassian as we discuss cost-avoidance and savings metrics to drive your optimization initiatives. We will identify key data points and techniques for making effective cloud resource rightsizing decisions and discuss how to maximize coverage and flexibility with ISF and convertible Reserved Instances. We’ll even talk about some lessons from Atlassian’s front lines!
We’ve helped customers like Atlassian improve their cloud cost efficiency. Check out the customer story.
Here Are a Few Interesting Cost and Efficiency-Focused Sessions
As the re:Invent 2017 session planner shows as of this article, there are over 100 sessions involving cloud cost optimization. This is no surprise as more businesses and enterprises are making their way onto the cloud and want to learn how to operate AWS as efficiently as possible.
Here are a few more sessions that are ideal for anyone interested in cloud cost efficiency best practices:
- ARC201 – Scaling up to Your First 10 Million Users: Scaling up to 10 million users is no easy feat. We’ll be curious to see what kind of cost efficiency tools or methods are in place to keep the spend of this growth in check.
- DEM10 – Getting the Most Out of Amazon CloudWatch Alerts: Intelligence and Context: A big part of maintaining cloud cost efficiency is staying on top of anomalies and alerts. We’re interested in seeing if this devops session dives into cost-related alerts and incidents and how those situations are handled.
- ARC303 – Running Lean Architectures: How to Optimize for Cost Efficiency: We’re excited to see more AWS-led sessions pushing the cloud cost efficiency agenda forward! There are a lot of methods and tools to use to keep cloud spend optimized and we’ll be curious to see what AWS has to say.
Assuming these talks are not overlapping, this could be a great schedule for any AWS user wanting to get a crash course on cloud optimization and efficiency.
